So I've come to the conclusion that there needs to be a new space Real Time Strategy game.

There hasn't been one that I've enjoyed since Star Trek Armada on PC, given that's around 17 years old and incompatible with modern PC's, I just guess there needs to be a new one.

Shall we start a movement guys?

{Ed001's Note - I am with it, though I expect No Man's Sky to make me forget all about other space games.....}

While we're on the subject of Space, have you seen those fantastic new images of Pluto? 3.2Billion miles away, 8 years of traveling 36,373 mph, an amazing feat, I genuinely have goosebumps.

{Ed001's Note - they should incorporate genuine images like that into a space game, give it real authenticity.}

Absolutely, although I'd imagine that it would cause some performance issue's.

{Ed001's Note - I would have thought it would be easier than having to create the graphics from scratch personally.}

Maybe, but with high resolution gaming, photographs would stand out like a sore thumb. Besides, you couldn't have a static photograph of an actively swirling planet like Jupiter, it wouldn't look right personally. They'd have to animate it, which would sap performance.

{Ed001's Note - I thought they had all these 3d high res video images that they just released stills from? That is what I was thinking of.}

Well, I guess you could ask the same of games that are already released. Games that are based on Earth, or Earth like planets, don't use real life stills for their backgrounds or any parts of the games.

Perhaps it's something that is in the works, but I think we're a fair way away from having actual images of real life in games.

{Ed001's Note - you are probably right.}

Never mind, I forgot Lizzie the first was in the 1500s and not the 1700s.

{Ed001's Note - you are confusing me now lol.}

That was meant to go on the movies page I think. I haven't slept much in 3 days, I have insomnia sorry lol.

{Ed001's Note - it does get confusing having multiple conversations with the same person on different pages to be fair. Mind it doesn't take much to confuse me.}

hsf I just bought a new space rts. Sins of a solar empire: rebellion. reviews are pretty good but I haven't played it yet. I want to to see another star wars rts. can't remember what the original is called. speaking of star trek did you ever try the star trek fps game voyager:elite force? I loved it.

rddu, I briefly played the FPS star trek game, I thought it was terrible lol. It came with a 4pack of games, Star Trek Armada I + II and 2 FPS games, 1 was the one you mentioned and the other may have been the sequel I'm not overly sure.

Sins of a Solar Empire looked good, it's about the only one that has interested me since Star Trek Armada, however, given it's price, it's not something I want to take a risk on.
